Content, Communications & Marketing / Media Production Lead(s)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're hiring one or more creative, strategic Lead(s) to join our team full-time. We're seeking candidates with a background in content and communications, and expertise in either marketing or media production – or ideally both.

Our Leads help our mission-driven clients achieve their communications objectives by conceptualizing and implementing project strategies. You will lead specialized projects, as well as components and stages of larger initiatives, providing your expertise at various points, from early-stage conceptualization to later-stage implementation and dissemination. You will also develop client relationships and manage both internal and external team members. This role works closely with the CEO, the Director of Research & Digital Learning Initiatives, other Leads, internal team members, and external clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities

All Leads at Sandbox hold the same core responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Translate strategies into well-scoped project plans and roadmaps. This includes owning the project's scope, timeline, scheduling, and resourcing to ensure it stays on track and is delivered on time and within budget. For your projects, manage cross-functional teams and coordinate workflows.
  • Client Management: As the main point of contact for clients and partners, you will build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring clear and proactive communication and providing strategic advice. This ensures that all strategic messaging and client goals are fully captured and reflected in the project's outputs.
  • People Management: Support, mentor, and manage the performance of direct reports, if relevant. Oversee external partners and vendors. Provide creative leadership to internal teams and external freelancers, ensuring alignment across all project stages.
  • Innovation & Industry Leadership: Contribute your technical expertise and industry knowledge to proposals and grant applications. Track trends in AI in your specific area of expertise and spearhead the identification and implementation of strategies to leverage AI tools to support your work.

Depending on your background and skills, you would join the company as a Content & Communication Lead with either a specialty in marketing or media production. Your projects and technical/creative contributions will be focused in the following areas based on your profile:

  • Writing & Media Conceptualization: Conceptualize and develop creative concepts for a variety of formats, ensuring all written and visual content aligns with strategic objectives. This includes creating pitch decks, moodboards, video shotlists, and scripts. You will also produce written content for various media formats, conduct visual and story research, and review and edit content from other team members.
  • Post-Production Supervision: Alongside other leads and team members, oversee post-production workflows for various media projects. You will provide creative direction and oversee the editing process to ensure narrative cohesion, visual quality, and alignment with project messaging and tone.
  • Live-Action Production: Support production of live-action video shoots, ensuring content capture aligns with storytelling and messaging objectives. You will also activate and brief film crews and other production personnel, and conduct participant interviews during filming as needed.
